Royal Blind care home receives Playlist plaque Friday 11th August 2017 We are delighted that another care home today achieved Playlist For Life certification status! Braeside House in the Liberton area of Edinburgh is the only care home in Scotland that specialises in caring for visually-impaired older people. Following training earlier in the year, Playlist For Life's training officer, Paula Bain, visited the home to present the Playlist for Life plaque to manager Serena Allan who shared some of the wonderful work being done at Braeside. Staff, residents and their families joined in the celebrations at the award ceremony and even enjoyed some live playlisting. Playlist for Life has already demonstrated the many benefits of personally meaningful music to people with dementia and those who care from them. Hearing about the many more benefits it brought to the residents, many of whom are registered blind, was particularly moving. New friendships have formed as residents share their playlists and their stories.
